My Brother Martin by Christine King Farris

Martin Luther King Jr is one of my heroes, and I’ve always made a point of having my kids watch his “I Have a Dream” speech on MLKJ Day (we don’t celebrate this day in Canada, but I do!).

How delighted I was when a friend sent me this book, “My Brother Martin – A Sister Remembers” that describes an ordinary boy, who when he encountered racism as a child told his mother, “One day I’m going to turn this world upside down.” He did. This is a lovely book that I recommend you get for the children in your life. It can spark some great conversations.
