This picture book with the long name (“Christina Was a Little Girl With no Puppy” is a picture book hot off the press written by my son Jonathan, for his niece (my granddaughter) Christina. It’s the simple and true story of a little girl wanting a puppy, whose current circumstances don’t allow her to have one. A kind couple that Christina knows comes up with a solution that makes Christina happy.
It’s a simple, good, true story, but my favourite part just might be the dedication, “For Sarah, who gave us the brightest little gift of all.” Christina is that gift. As each of our (yours and my) precious children and grandchildren are.
