Listen for the Singing

In July I reviewed, “From Anna” by my favourite Canadian author, Jean Little. “Listen for the Singing” is the sequel, where Anna, who has been in a special class for those with poor eyesight must now attend a regular highschool and is terrified. Her journey to not only find her place, but help her brother cope with his tragedy, and even brave approaching a crotchety teacher who turns out to be more “human” than she imagnined, is well worth reading – from ten years old to adult. (I recommend reading “From Anna” first.)

Jean Little’s characters are always so realistic and relatable – their thoughts, emotions, and actions are so very common to us all. And they are overcomers, demonstrating to us that we can be as well.
