In January I did a book review on “Freckles” a great book by Gene Stratton Porter. This book, “A Girl of the Limberlost”, isn’t exactly a sequal, but there is reference to “Freckles” and he and his family enter the story towards the end. The heroine of this story is Elnora, whose father died before she was born, and who is blamed by her mother for his death. Elnora has many hardships, but she does have dreams, perseverance, and kind neighoburs. The story has many twists and turns that keeps the reader interested, and Elnora’s integrity and strong character are inspirational to all.
