Light and Darkness (For Yom Hashoah – Holocaust Remembrance Day)
Light and Darkness
Good and Evil
Today, Yom HaShoah,
We remember.
We remember the millions who died in the Holocaust—
Victims of incredible darkness, incredible evil.
But the evil was not victorious.
I am here. My husband is here.
Our children are here.
Our people are here.
Am Israel Chai!
The people of Israel live.
And we will always live
because…
Od avinu chai!
Our Father still lives.
Light and Darkness
Good and Evil
Continue to exist.
But light will always overcome darkness in the end.
Good will overcome evil
Because our Father lives.

May the memory of those who perished be a blessing, may their memory spur us on to stay in the light and overcome darkness wherever we see it. Do not be silent. Love, don’t hate. Speak up for the voiceless.
